Responsibilities:
Planning and instructing lessons on science topics, such as biology, chemistry or physics Enforcing classroom management and school administrative policies Assessing and accommodating student learning needs and styles Using technology to deliver lessons and other educational materials Communicating effectively with students, parents and staff Preparing students for standardized science and post-secondary entrance tests Grading student assignments, tests and exams
Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Education or related field - Valid teaching certification in the subject area(s) being taught - Previous experience teaching high school students preferred - Strong knowledge and understanding of the subject matter being taught - Familiarity with instructional design principles and learning technologies - Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment - Proficiency in using educational technology tools for instruction and assessment Skills:
- Laboratory skills for conducting experiments and demonstrations - Research laboratory experience for guiding students in scientific research projects - Knowledge of biochemistry principles and techniques for teaching advanced science courses - Proficiency in teaching geometry concepts and problem-solving strategies - Understanding of education administration policies and procedures - Familiarity with genetics principles for teaching biology courses - Strong behavior management skills for maintaining a productive classroom environment - Ability to design instructional materials and activities that promote active learning - Knowledge of special education laws, accommodations, and strategies for supporting diverse learners - Proficiency in using learning technology tools such as online platforms, interactive whiteboards, etc.
