This position will support development of relationships with community partners in creating learning opportunities and mutually beneficial pathways to employment.
The Career Development Specialist would need to be comfortable working individually with varying ages and populations as well as skilled in presenting and facilitating group discussion, as well as building partnerships and collaboration.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
Three years of related experience.
Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with clients, staff, hospital personnel, and other customers in a professional manner while tactfully navigating complex and highly confidential situations.
Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to interpret and appropriately communicate assessment data to clients and deliver complex information into understandable and actionable components.
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple internal and external customer relationships as well as manage complex data and information.
Experience with, and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data base management, graphics, and presentation software.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to remain calm and focused during stressful situations.
Ability to analyze and prioritize workload and to act with initiative with minimal supervision.
Hold NCDA Certified Career Services Provider credential or be eligible to complete credentialing as a CCSP within one year of hire date.

Functions Area of Responsibilities Provides professional, high quality and timely assistance to clients, community partners, and referral resources.
Serves as administrator with manager on YouScience software and is able to guide clients through their results to make the most of the information provided.
Assists clients in completing other career assessments as appropriate.
Develops system-wide communications and trainings to recruit participants and referrals for career services.
Stays abreast of job descriptions, compensation information, competencies, and training requirements for positions within Tanner Health System in order to appropriately guide employees in exploring their options for career development.
Communicates regularly with HR and other leaders to stay abreast of high needs areas within the system.
Maintains communication and fosters partnerships with Tanner managers and leaders to identify areas of need, identify employees who could benefit from career planning, and to ensure awareness of qualified employees in talent pool for internal growth.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of internal educational benefits and training content such as tuition reimbursement and LinkedIn Learning, as well as external resources such as scholarship opportunities.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of labor market trends and developments as well as informational resources for occupational outlook data.
Serves as point of contact and liaison for new community career pathways partnerships and collaborations.
Support development of relationships with community partners such as local school systems and colleges and assist stakeholders in creating learning opportunities and mutually beneficial pathways to employment and advancement for students.
Under direction of manager, provides career guidance services to Tanner employees helping them to explore pathways to create, pursue, and achieve their career goals in the system.
Prepare and deliver educational presentations related to career services and career development information including training presentations related to use of the career development tools available.
Facilitate or co-facilitate educational and or supportive groups related to career development.
Maintains appropriate confidential records of participation and progress of clients and is able to produce reporting of deidentified participation and outcome data and trends.
Researches special projects and compiles information as needed.
Inventories and maintains supplies, program materials, and marketing materials related to career services.
Is proficient in Office software such as Word and Excel, Smartsheets, ADP, Astron Talent Management, EAP software, online tools and resources and accomplishes related productivity tasks accurately and in a timely manner with limited supervision.
Staff and appropriately refer career services clients for more in-depth career counseling, EAP counseling, or case management as appropriate.
Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program.
Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
